Why Ventana
What a great question!
Today’s youth are faced with a decision to either change the world or be changed by it.
Ventana Ministries is giving you the tools to be world changers. We are a cross-cultural ministry that equips college-bound young adults to serve God through a nine-month faith venture.
In Spanish the word ventana means window. We believe lives are impacted and changed as we learn to see things from a different perspective or worldview. To equip our students with a biblical and missions-oriented worldview we have built a campus in the middle of a quaint and rural town near Ensenada, Mexico. The view from the dorms will provide glimpses of people who have very little, yet experience the joy of the Lord like none other. You will find children playing soccer in the dusty streets, mothers hanging laundry in the backyards, and fathers strolling off to work in the local fields. It might take some time to adjust to the slowness of life in our tranquil community, but soon you’ll come to grasp how spending time with others is far more fulfilling than accomplishing tasks.
From the course curriculum to the practical application of service and evangelism, you will have opportunities to serve the marginalized and participate in two mission trips sponsored by our local church. Through this incredible adventure, young adults solidify their faith, gain a greater worldview, learn to think beyond themselves, and become a part of the Great Commission.
Ventana Ministries is giving young adults the chance to do the kinds of things that Christ would do – tactile things that can change their perception of God, themselves, and their world for the rest of their lives. So before you head off to college and make some of the most critical decisions of your life, gain a perspective on your role in God’s global purposes that you can’t get from a classroom.
