About Us
Our Method
“The deeper life is deeper only because the average Christian life is so tragically shallow.” A.W. Tozer
Our environment will nurture spiritual formation and hone intellectual skills, while also helping you develop strong interpersonal relationships. Our goal is to prepare students for the challenges they will face at the university while motivating them to be influential leaders, shaping the ideas of culture for the glory of God and the good of our society.
Personal Discipleship
Our cornerstone is discipling and mentoring students. ”Keeping it simple” by focusing on study, worship, and application. Our curriculum will transform your worldview and translate into lives yearning to make a difference.
Servant-Leadership
The only way to develop leadership is to practice leadership. We provide you amazing service experiences throughout our time together from leading and directing guest groups to sharing the gospel message to migrant farm workers.
Community
We believe ‘community requires commitment’ and fostering this component is an important aspect of what we do. As a group of spirit filled believers taking part in the same experiences, eating and living together and presenting one vulnerable to grow a communion of depth and vulnerability with Christ as its focus.
Social Justice
We don’t want to just ‘know’ about the teachings of Jesus, but to live them out in our community. We encourage the building of relationships with the marginalized and yearn to learn from them about the difficulties life can present. As always, we want to present ourselves as learners in every situation in life.
Church Partnership
In Baja, we partner with a local church that is passionate about mobilizing latin americans for missions. Most assuredly, your worldview will be challenged and your Christian experience altered each time we worship together.
Statement of Faith & Beliefs
All those who participate in the ongoing work and witness of Ventana Ministries shall be in sympathy with its central purpose of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In order to qualify for service, members of the Board of Directors, members of the regular and volunteer staff, and participants shall subscribe to the following articles of faith:
Word of God
The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments, being given by divine inspiration, are the Word of God, the final and supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
Trinity
In the Scriptures, God reveals Himself as the living and true God, Creator of all things. Perfect in love and righteousness in all His ways, this one God exists eternally as a Trinity of persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Sin
God made man in His image that He might have fellowship with him. Being estranged from God by his disobedience, sinful man is incapable of a right relationship to God apart from divine grace.
Christ
The only Mediator between God and man is Jesus Christ our Lord, God’s eternal Son, who as man fully shared and fulfilled our humanity in a life of perfect obedience.
Resurrection
By His death in our place, Jesus revealed the divine love and upheld divine justice, removing our guilt and reconciling us to God. Having risen bodily from the dead and ascended into heaven, He rules as Lord over all and intercedes for us as our Great High Priest.
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit, through the proclamation of the Gospel, renews our hearts, persuading us to repent of our sins and confess Jesus as Lord. By the same Spirit, we are led to trust in divine mercy, whereby we are forgiven all our sins, justified by faith through the merit of Christ our Savior, adopted into God’s family as His children and enables so to live in the world that men may see our good works and glorify our Father who is in heaven.
Evidence of faith
Every believer is called to live so in the power of the indwelling Spirit that he will not fulfill the lust of the flesh but will bear fruit to the glory of God.
Great Commission
The Lord Jesus Christ commanded all believers to proclaim the Gospel throughout the world and to disciple men of every nation. The fulfillment of that Great Commission requires that all worldly and personal ambitions be subordinated to a total commitment to “Him who loved us and gave Himself for us.”
