    • Do you question how your life can be truly significant?
    • Do you think you want to become a missionary?
    • Do you want to make the most of your time?
    • Do you love to help and serve others?
    • Are you prepared for college?
    • Can you defend your faith?
    • Is Jesus your all?

    Eligibility

If you said “yes” to all of the above, then we want you to apply. We do have a few eligibility stipulations:

    1. Only those who just graduated from high school (i.e., graduate in June of 2007 and start Ventana in August of 2007) can apply. We can recommend other ministries if you fall into any other category such as the Joshua Program offered through Hume Lake Christian Camps.
    2. Only those with references from a youth pastor, an adult mentor and a high school teacher will be considered. These should be included with your application.
    3. Those who attend Camp Ventana (see Quick Links for more information) or have participated in some overseas mission trip will be given greater consideration.

Also, make sure you check out the Important Deadlines to the right, to stay on top of things.

    Program Fees and Other Costs

A Ventana year costs $8200. This includes a $95 application fee, room, board, books, and Ventana sponsored activities (getting to and from our main office is your responsibility). For those who are thrifty or simply like being first in line, you can recive an early bird discount by sending in your initial 50% deposit on or before March 15th. This will save you $500 dollars (not pesos) for the year.

You should know we don’t provide personal hygiene or personal care products. It is your responsibility to bring the Pepto and Midol. And for those who are protein fanatics or simply need to stabilize your blood sugar, you’ll need to bring extra snack money.

    Spending allowance

While in Baja, monthly allowances will be distributed to students. It is your responsibility to plan, buy and cook your breakfasts and lunches with your roommates, and pay for utilities and non-sponsored Ventana activities, as well as late night visits to the taco stand. Please note the allowance isn’t a large sum but if done right you should have enough to cover your costs.

    Passport and immunization requirement

You will be expected to complete the process for a Passport and get the necessary shots as designated by the “Centers for Disease Control”. We do not provide health or emergency extraction insurance for participants; this is the responsibility of the parent. At each location we are well acquainted with doctors and other practitioners, yet the cost for visitations and services will the responsibility of the student.
